HD Growth Partners was founded in Youngstown in 2007 on a simple model: as our employees and clients succeed, so does the firm. Success to us means positively impacting our clients’ and team members’ lives.

Tim Petrey, CPA, CGMA

CEO

Tim joined the firm out of Youngstown State University, made partner in 2012, and became Managing Partner in 2015, at 25. He founded White Glove Payroll in 2017 and led the firm into its partnership with Ascend and its new name, HD Growth Partners, in 2024.

He’s a Forbes Best-in-State CPA (2025 and 2026), a two-time CPA Practice Advisor 40 Under 40, and the host of the Failing Forward with Tim Petrey podcast.

Megan runs how the firm works: its operations, systems, and the client experience behind every engagement. A change-management and technology-implementation specialist, she was named Chief Operating Officer in 2026.

In 2024, HD Davis CPAs and White Glove Payroll became HD Growth Partners and a founding partner firm of Ascend, a platform that lets regional firms stay independent while tapping national resources: cybersecurity, HR and benefits, training, technology, and capital to grow.
