Hey All!
The last few years have changed our industry drastically. We used to be able to start tax return preparation in January and go until April 15th. But, due to a variety of factors, the “tax season” has become more compressed than ever. As many of you are noticing, all of your tax forms don’t start showing up until the end of February or the beginning of March. With that being said, we’ve made plenty of changes to deal with this “compression”. You may receive phone calls from our administrative team if we are missing documents or updated drivers licenses which may be a new call for some of you. This shift allows our tax professionals to focus on spending time with our clients and not collecting data.
This time of the year, things get a little unusual around our office. We pride ourselves on fast response times and quick turnaround times but for the next 6 weeks we tend to get a little bogged down with a large influx of tax returns, meetings, calls, emails, etc… We may be a little slower than usual in our response or turnaround this time of the year because of this compression. BUT, I do want people to know that I’m always available if things are uncomfortable or response times are slower than reasonable.
Please feel free to shoot me an email if there are any issues with the processing of your tax return as we are working diligently to improve our systems to make sure we take great care of our clients as we always have.
If you have not already sent in your tax documents: I’m doing my best to encourage everyone to send in those documents as soon as possible to ensure we have time to get things completed and communicated to you in the way you’re accustomed to. It’s essential to me that our team continues to educate our clients at every opportunity about how we can continue to help reduce the stress of income taxes and the necessary evils of compliance work.
Rest assured, our team is here working plenty of long days to make sure we get everyone’s tax returns completed with the level of quality and consistency you are used to but our systems have been forced to evolve more in the last three years than the prior thirty!
Thank you as always for your continued patience and support as we continue to navigate the changes in our world. Your support means the world to me and our team.
Thank you,
Tim Petrey
