You may have heard that on December 3, 2024, a federal court in Texas issued an injunction suspending the mandatory BOI reporting regulations on a going forward basis.
If we have already completed your BOI report and it was filed before this injunction was issued, you were already in compliance with the rules. As for going forward, as we are not a law firm, we cannot provide any legal advice or guidance concerning the court cases and the legal status of the regulations, or your particular obligations. However, we believe that any future obligations to update the BOI is also temporarily suspended. In short, there is nothing for us to do but wait and let the legal process play out.
If we have not already completed your BOI report and have not received your Engagement Letter or BOI Form. As we are not a law firm, we cannot provide any legal advice or guidance concerning the court cases and the legal status of the regulations, or your particular obligations. We are still working to gather all of this information so we can be prepared to file in the event the Texas ruling is reversed or overturned. Upon completing the Engagement Letter and BOI Form, please indicate on the form whether you prefer to file regardless of the outcome of the injunction or hold off to complete the filing until the outcome is finalized.
